Halpern is currently the Israel columnist for America Online where his commentary, On Site Insights, is a regular feature. A scholar of European and Jewish history, Halpern has been a faculty member at Yale University; Brandeis University; Hebrew College of Boston, and Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
