The Injury brings together ten of Anna Enquist's best short stories. A dramatic rescue in the North Sea in the 1840's. A school soccer match as a symbol of struggle. A devastating injury. A figure in a painting by Vermeer.
For the many thousands of readers of The Masterpiece and The Secret, this will be a rewarding collection demonstrating the breadth of her imagination. For those new to Anna Enquist's work, there can be no better introduction to one of Europe's finest contemporary writers than The Injury.
First published in 1999 under the original title De Kwetsuur, the work has been translated by Jeannette K. Ringold.
